Thiruvannamalai Sri Arunachaleshwarar Karthigai Maha Deepam will be lit today November 25, 2015 (Wednesday).
In previous years, live telecast in TV channels began at

- Vasanth TV - from 4 am Barani Deepam; from 4 pm Maha Deepam

In Tiruvannamalai, 2668 feet high mountain is worshiped as Lord Shiva Linga. Maha Deepam will be lit at the top of mountain at around 6 pm using 3500 kgs of Ghee. Lord Shiva will bless the devotees in Sri Arthanareeswarar Form.
Lakhs of devotees will throng the city on Karthigai Deepam. Many devotees will perform girivalam (circumbulate the mountain) on this day.
